Content/Survey and Diigo
The content I researched was related to diabetes because this is a topic I teach and wanted to find some new material. I found some great podcasts at http://www.diabetes.org/ that I will definately use this fall as well as many powerpoint presentations through the center for disease control that I will use, specifically http://www.cdc.gov/diabetes/statistics/slides/maps_diabestesobesity_trends%20.ppt. And last but not least we signed up at the diigo site but honestly I didn’t use this much because it was just another “tool” and I was honestly overwhelmed by it all. You can visit my site @ http://www.diigo.com/user/suhuschmidt and see what I have bookmarked.
I created content on prezi.com for an online course segment I am going to be doing this fall. I had never used prezi before and it was really easy to use and it may definately be something I try instead of powerpoints because the look is much more stimulating for students in class. My prezi can be seen @http://prezi.com/idowir9ddeni/intro-to-med-surg1-clinical-topics/
I loved using Survey Monkey. It was my first time creating a survey and I will definately use this again. I think for me it will be very helpful pre-class to determine where the students are and then again post course to see what needs improvement.
